On New Years Eve 1970, Â鶹Éç Radio Solent officially went on air for the first time. Neil Sackley has been going through the archive and discovered this radio station has always brought you the biggest – and more unusual stories. We were there through the night when the south was devastated by flood waters just before Christmas. We were there when there were fears of an explosion at the Fawley refinery. We were there for the memorial service for the victims of the Clapham rail crash. And we were there as the world looked towards a new decade.
