Central African Republic: Hundreds of thousands displaced by election violence

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Around 230,000 people who have been displaced since mid-December by fighting in the Central African Republic are still yet to return to their homes. That’s according to a conflict analysis report from ACAPS. Of those uprooted by the latest escalation of violence, more than 100,000 people left the Central African Republic altogether, and are living as refugees in neighbouring countries. Abim Sébastien Sharpe, who authored the report for ACAPS, tells Focus on Africa’s Bola Mosuro more.
