Algeria's pro-democracy protest movement known as Hirak returned to the streets in February after a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic and resulting restrictions. But the United Nations Human Rights Office has now condemned the government and police for the second time since then, for what they call disproportionate force that is being used against peaceful protesters. Audrey Rinaldi is the UN's human rights officer responsible for Algeria, and she told Focus on Africa's Esau Williams more about their concerns.
