Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo during the 1990s at a time of political and civil unrest, Ode Fulutudilu and her family sought refuge in South Africa. Finding employment was hard so when her father had to return to his home country of Angola to work, Ode stayed behind in Cape Town. She grew up in children鈥檚 homes and it was there that she discovered her love for sport, particularly football. A British missionary saw Ode鈥檚 potential and dedication to the sport and later became her foster mother. Believing in what Ode could achieve, she reached out on her behalf to several universities including one in the USA which offered Ode a paid scholarship to study and play football. Ode then began her professional career playing European football in Spain and in Finland. After moving to Scotland in 2021, the Glasgow City striker talks about her determination to succeed and embracing every opportunity that comes her way.
