Sowande's African Suite gets the audience's feet tapping
麻豆社 Proms on the World ServiceAvailable for over a year
The delightful African Suite by the Nigerian Fela Sowande is one of a number of works by black composers included in the 2021 season of 麻豆社 Proms. Conceived in the 1940s, the Suite brings the colours and rhythms of West-African music to a European string orchestra.
