Afghan would-be schoolgirl: 'All of my dreams are ruined'

Outside Source

Available for over a year

The Taliban have excluded girls from Afghan secondary schools, with only boys and male teachers allowed back into classrooms. Taliban officials who seized power last month said they were working to reach a decision on the matter. Many fear a return of the regime of the 1990s when the Taliban severely restricted girls' and women's rights. The 麻豆社's Nuala McGovern has been speaking to one girl in her early teens in Afghanistan. We're calling her Tarah, it's not her real name. Her dad was alongside her when they spoke - we're calling him Raheem, again, not his real name.
