New foundation launched to honour two police officers

Within a ten month period between 2014 and 2015, Merseyside Police suffered the tragic loss of two of its officers in the worst of circumstances - Dave Phillips who was killed on duty, and Neil Doyle, who was attacked on a night out in Liverpool city centre. This weekend sees the official launch of a new charity set up in their honour, aimed at supporting the families of those who've died while in the force. The Doyle Phillips Foundation has been set up by Dave and Neil's widows Jen and Sarah, along with the help of some former colleagues.
