Black Sherif: 'This music I'm doing has to pay me'

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

The Ashanti region of Ghana is home to one of the most exciting new genres of music to come out of Africa: it's called GH Drill, a Ghanaian-powered version of Chicago's hip-hop. Ghanaian artist Black Sherif has emerged as one of the most talented musicians to come out of the region in recent times. He tells Mark Wilberforce the lyrics that make his track 'First Sermon' a massive hit with youth in Ghana and beyond.
