The furlough scheme that's helped support millions of workers during the pandemic, ends today. Under the scheme - the Government paid towards the wages of people who couldn't work, or whose employers could no longer afford to pay them, up to a monthly limit of £2,500. At its peak - a third of the workforce was being paid by the Government and it's cost sixty-eight-billion pounds over the last eighteen months. But there's uncertainty for those workers currently on the scheme - with some badly-hit sectors saying support should continue. So where does this leave employers and employees now?
