Weymouth Women lose 13-0 in FA Cup

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

It was a chastening experience for Weymouth Women's Football Team at the weekend. Facing Sherborne Ladies Football Club for a place in the 1st Round of the Women's FA Cup, Weymouth were on the wrong end of a 13-0 defeat at the Bob Lucas Stadium. Weymouth faced a team who play two divisions higher in the South West Premier League. The players say they'll 'learn from the experience' in the final qualifying round tie. The club only formed last year, coping with a first season cut short by coronavirus. Captain and central midfielder Charlie Wilson was brought up on Portland and now lives in Weymouth. She told Â鶹Éç Radio Solent presenter Steve Harris it was a difficult afternoon.
