Grade I listed Woolton Hall to be placed on Historic England's 'Heritage At Risk register', due to its dilapidated condition
Paul SaltAvailable for over a year
We are blessed with some stunning listed buildings in Liverpool - from St George's Hall and The Walker Art Gallery - to Speke Hall and Sudley House. But one historic building has definitely seen better days. Woolton Hall in Liverpool is to be added to Historic England's 'Heritage At Risk register', due to its dilapidated condition. Liverpool City Council say they are in a dialogue with the owners, but that whilst the owners say they have a plan in place, there is little the council can do. They say Compulsory Purchase Orders can only be issued for buildings, if the owners fail to have a plan in place. The council says they will continue to work alongside the owners though, and hope to come to a resolution that works for everyone. Local historian, Jonathon Wild, has been involved in on-going campaigns to save it. He spoke to Paul Salt on 麻豆社 Radio Merseyside about the hall and the situation it's in now.
