Why did cats start hanging out with humans?

CrowdScience

Available for over a year

When humans started farming, thousands of years ago, their grain stores fell prey to hungry rodents. These rodents in turn attracted hungry wildcats, which would have delighted the early farmers – and thus began a beautiful friendship. Dr Eva-Maria Geigl studies ancient cat DNA to see how these cats then followed humans as they migrated around the world.
