Gambian Jammeh-era victims speak out: 'no leader should go scot-free'

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

The Gambia's Truth, Reconciliation, and Reparations Commission or TRRC, has released its final report looking at abuses committed under the former president Yahya Jammeh. The 1400-page-long volume gathered evidence and testimonies revealing the true breadth and horror of human rights violations. 'I want the President of The Gambia to implement these recommendations,' says one of the victims, 'to ensure that no one else will come as leader, and violate the rights of its citizens'.
