Ghana's Covid-19 restrictions hit traders

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Ghana Traders Union says informal traders operating along the country's borders have been severely hit by Covid-19 restrictions that prevent frontier crossing. Ghana Union of Traders Association president, Joseph Obeng, finds it unjust that big companies' trucks are allowed to come and go while people are told not to. He is calling for more "balance" between Covid-19 restrictions and economy-friendly measures. (Photo: Two boys sit at the back of a lorry transporting dry rubber in Ghana's Western Region.
