Hospitality: 'It feels like closure by stealth'

Paul Salt

Available for over a year

Many of us might have already scaled back our Christmas plans, maybe not bothering meeting those friends in a restaurant this time because of the government's warnings about Covid. As a result those places where we'd usually meet each other are struggling again, and now the Chancellor has announced more financial support for hospitality. The includes grants of up to £6000, as well as putting more money into the culture recovery fund for places like theatres. All this going on while question marks still linger about more Covid restrictions. Izzy Grey is Managing Director of the We Love Good Times online magazine, which promotes independent food and drink businesses in Chester and West Cheshire.
