Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Ghanaian musician, producer and activist Rocky Dawuni says he grew up with "a heavy dose of Ghana culture." His upbringing and influences are reflected in his latest album Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1, which he says is about embracing origins. Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1 has been nominated for a Grammy award in the Best Global Music Album category. It is Dawuni's second time as a Grammy nominee. He spoke to Focus on Africa's Mark Wilberforce about the tracks on the current album and how they are rooted in indigenous and traditional palettes. Photo: Ghanaian musician Rocky Dawuni.
