The government will “fail” people who voted Conservative in 2019 unless it delivers on its promise to “level-up” the country, according to Michael Gove. Speaking to the �鶹�� in Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire this week, the Secretary of State for Levelling Up said it was “absolutely critical for the country” and while there was no “instant-fix” the government couldn’t afford to go slow. Tomorrow, on the 2nd February 2022, the Government will unveil plans to tackle regional inequalities, which will focus on handing power money down from Whitehall to towns and communities with the creation of more elected local leaders.
