Banned for collecting too much rubbish

Sonia Watson

Available for over a year

A woman who says she has been banned from every tip in Essex has told 麻豆社 Essex she WON'T stop collecting rubbish. Maria Revell is from Jaywick, and having seen the amount of fridges, sofas and other general waste left or stuck in and around houses in the area, she decided she wanted to help those who couldn't move it. However, her constant visits caught the attention of the Essex County Council staff who run the tip. They've now banned her from all refuse sites because of excessive use. But Maria doesn't want to stop helping locals out. In a statement, a spokesperson for Essex County Council said: 鈥淓ssex County Council is committed to working with Tendring District Council to identify a waste collection and disposal approach that will support Maria鈥檚 community activities and will speak with local members and officers to establish the best long-term solution. 鈥淓ssex County Council supports the activities of local councils and individuals who are working to tackle littering and fly tipping in Essex, and continues to work with partners to take enforcement action where appropriate.鈥 The council reiterated that they're working with Maria to find a solution - although Essex County Council's tip rules state only own household waste is allowed.
