Warning: The detail of the violence in this interview could upset some listeners. Diana Parkes’ daughter, Joanna Simpson, was battered to death by her estranged husband in 2010 with their two children within earshot. After the killing, Diana set up a foundation to help transform the lives of children impacted by domestic violence and it was at a meeting of the charity SafeLives that she first met the Duchess of Cornwall. The duchess has credited Diana with inspiring her to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse. Diana spoke to Â鶹Éç Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour presenter Emma Barnett about what it was like raising her grandchildren after the tragic killing of her daughter. Listen to the whole programme now on Â鶹Éç Sounds, where Â鶹Éç Radio 4's Woman's Hour reunites Diana and the duchess at Clarence House.
