A letter to Ukraine from Sarajevo

Weekend

Available for over a year

War in Ukraine is followed live in real time around the globe. There have been protests in western capitals and also in the Balkans, where wars raged during the last decade of the 20th century. That war has brought back dark memories. An estimated 100,000 people were killed in Bosnia -Herzegovina alone. Sarajevo, the capital, endured the longest siege in modern history. One Sarajevo siege survivor, Aida Cerkez, has shared with Weekend a letter she has written to citizens of Kyiv.
