Kenya's deputy President William Ruto does not see why he should feel bitter over the fallout with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The two men formed an alliance between their two parties in the 2013 and 2017 elections and were voted in to power. But the president has since ended their relationship, to the extent that he is even endorsing opposition leader, Raila Odinga, in the country's general elections due to take place later in the year. Mr Ruto told Focus on Africa's Veronique Edwards he was never seen as someone with the class or pedigree to be elected but his networks were useful, and now that he has "done his bit" he should "exit".
