Polisario Front decries Spain's 'betrayal' over Western Sahara

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez travelled to Morocco to mark a rekindling of relations between the two countries. But the backing of Morocco's sovereignty over Western Sahara by the Spanish PM has angered members of the Polisario Front, a nationalist group that has been fighting for an independent state in Western Sahara. Oubi Bouchraya, the Polisario Front Representative to the European Union, described Spain's action as a "betrayal". Interview by Hassan Arouni.
