The National Education Union Annual Conference gets underway in Bournemouth. Up to 1600 delegates due will attend. Last week the government released its first White Paper on Schools in 6 years. Among the topics covered, it said it wants to push for most schools to become academies by 2030 and create a longer school day for many schools. Peter Middleman is the North West Secretary for National Education Union.
