Durban resident: 'The power of the floods was too much'

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Madoda Siyabulela, is a resident of Inanda, an informal settlement in the city of Durban. It was one of the many areas badly affected by the floods and mudslides that followed days of heavy rainfall. More than 300 people have died in the storm that hit KwaZulu-Natal province, which has been described as one of the deadliest ever recorded in South Africa. Madoda told Focus on Africa's Hassan Arouni that many homes have been washed away and they are still trying to recover missing people.
