When it comes to losing weight you might often hear people talking about healthy eating, intermittent fasting, calorie counting or even that broad term wellness but not necessarily using the word ‘diet’? According to the British Heart Foundation the UK diet industry is worth around £2bn a year or £220billion worldwide. Dr Saira Hameed, an NHS Consultant with a speciality in obesity medicine at Imperial College London, and author of The Full Diet and Rhiannon Lambert, a Registered Nutritionist spoke to Anita Rani about whether the word ‘diet’ has fallen out of favour when it comes to talking about our health and weight management.
