Most of the 25 million people who live in Shanghai have been in lockdown for weeks as the authorites struggle to prevent further outbreads of Covid-19. The measures, already severe, are being tightened still further, despite the World Health Organisation advising China yesterday to ditch its zero-Covid strategy.  Â鶹Éç China correspondent Robin Brant has been experiencing the lockdown in Shanghai first hand. He says the initial lockdown was expected to last a few days, but it is now in its seventh week. Now people there are seeing some of the most extreme measures as the authorities try to achieve 'societal zero'. He says they are now restricted to government food supplies, any health care that is not an emergency needs local CCP approval, and people living in the same apartment block as a positive case are required to go to a quarantine facility.
