Marge used to be a singer, but stopped almost 40 years ago and hasn’t sung a note since. Her Granddaughter, Meghan, is now a singer herself and wants to finally hear Marge’s voice. But Marge, who is now in her 80’s, is far from convinced... What follows is a journey into Marge’s past, through old musicals and scrapbook clippings. We see how music was passed on through the generations of her family. Finally, Marge gets a chance to rediscover her voice, but will she take it? A tender, often funny, look at what we pass on and what we will leave behind, ‘Obit.’ explores all the different ways we measure legacy and poses the question: what do we want to be remembered for?
