Susan Hetherington: routine eye test led to undergoing life-saving surgery to remove a brain tumour

Rakeem Omar

Available for over a year

Imagine you go in for a routine eye test and it leads to undergoing life-saving surgery to remove a brain tumour. That's what happened to grandmother Susan Hetherington - and within days she was diagnosed with a low-grade meningioma tumour which was taken out during an operation. Without the intervention it could have cost her eyesight, or even her life. Now Susan is now campaigning with the charity Brain Tumour Research and calling on the Government and the larger cancer charities to spend more on research into the disease.
