UK: What will Liz Truss' government mean for Europe?

Newshour

Available for over a year

Queen Elizabeth has invited the newly elected leader of the Conservative party, Liz Truss, to become prime minister and form a new government. The transfer of power from Boris Johnson went smoothly, but what might a new figure at the head of a Conservative government, which has been up until now hard-line on Brexit, mean for the relationship between the UK and its largest trading partner: the EU.  Sylvie Bermann, France's ambassador to the UK between 2014 and 2017, during which time the UK voted to leave the EU, gives an insight into what the EU outlook might be.
