The Queen's horse saddle made in Walsall

Rakeem Omar

Available for over a year

There are many links between the Queen and the West Midlands, and this is one that came from Her Majesty's love of horse racing. Walsall is known for making saddles. Jabez Cliff and company Limited held a Royal Warrant in supplying saddles to the Royal Household, before going into administration in 2014. Our reporter Tracey Higgins has been out to meet James Hitchin whose family set up the firm in 1873. He now works for 'Ideal' in Walsall and although the warrant has gone, the Royal link continues.
