Russia responds to close ally's nuclear suggestion

Outside Source

Available for over a year

Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Russian republic Chechnya and a close ally of Putin, has criticised Russia's army and suggested smaller, tactical nuclear weapons should be considered after its most recent defeats. Kadyrov's comments were supported by Yevgeny Prigozhinthe, head of the Wagner mercenary group. Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, speaking on a phone call to reporters, had praise for the Chechen leader, but said tactical decisions would be made objectively with a "balanced approach." The 麻豆社's Steven Rosenberg explains Kadyrov's comments, Russia's response to him and what Putin's next move might be: "Putin has left himself very little room for manoeuvre... the logical next step for him... is to declare Ukraine is invading and occupying Russian territory. What does he do next?" (Photo: Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov (小), Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov (R) and Russia's State Duma member Adam Delimkhanov attend a military parade.
