Skin-tone prosthetics launched for women of colour

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Breast cancer is the world's most prevalent cancer. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), there were over two million women diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. However, research from cancer support group, Black Women Rising, found that women of colour who had had a mastectomy were often only offered breast prosthetics in pale skin tones. Bola Mosuro speaks to two women who have teamed up to create a range of prosthetic breasts that are available in a variety of skin tones.
