Nigeria floods: 'My mother's town is entirely submerged'

Newsday

Available for over a year

Devastating flooding in Nigeria has killed more than 600 people and displaced nearly one and half million residents. Authorities in the country say the floods could continue into November. Health officials warn that could worsen an ongoing cholera outbreak; even natural gas exports are at risk. 麻豆社 reporter Peter Okwoche - who grew up in Nigeria - explains what it is like across many areas in Nigeria, including his own hometown. "I've got relatives among [the affected], I've got friends among them, because these floods have actually devastated the whole of Nigeria."
