India cricket: International women's team to be paid same as men

Outside Source

Available for over a year

In a historic move within India's most beloved sport, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced that women playing cricket at international level will be paid the same as their male counterparts. The organisation said this was a step "into a new era of gender equality." Outside Source has been hearing from Indian cricket fans. Zainab is one of them who says that while cricket has been a "man's world", the changes herald a "new era", where equal recognition for women will encourage more to pick up the game.
