Is Facebook's parent company Meta doing enough to remove hate speech and incitement to violence in posts in languages other than English?  That's the question at the heart of a court case in Kenya. The company is being sued for $2bn over allegations that its algorithms promoted violence during the civil war in Ethiopia and that it failed to provide adequate moderation. Meta says it invests heavily in moderation and tech to remove hate and that hate speech and incitement to violence were against the platform's rules. One plaintiff in the case is Abrham Maereg, the son of an Ethiopian academic who was shot dead last year by a group of armed men on motorbikes.
