At least ten people have died, seven of them children in a crush at a New Year's firework display in Uganda, Kampala's Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire tells Newsday. Police said crowds got stuck in a narrow corridor in a shopping mall near the capital Kampala. Some were trampled to death while others suffocated.
