A Birmingham MP wants the council to move faster - to reopen an abandoned swimming pool in Small Heath. The leisure centre pool is in one of the most deprived areas of the city. It closed six years ago because of structural damage - which still needs to be fixed. People in the community who want the pool back open - say they're appalled to find out that Birmingham council turned down money to help fix it. Birmingham city council were offered a hundred thousand pound by Sport England a few months after it closed But they rejected the money - because in their words "the swimming pool was not deemed a priority" Labour MP Shabana Mahmood has been telling me that she's now written to the leader of the Council - Ian Ward - saying that after more than 6 years, it's time for them to commit to a timescale:
