Tunisian president accused of racist remarks

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Tunisia鈥檚 president Kais Saied has faced a backlash after saying an increase in migration from other African countries was part of a plot. People from other African countries living in Tunisia say they face an increasingly hostile climate in the country, with the main African student group telling its members not to leave their homes except in an emergency, for fear of being targeted. Huda Mzioudet, an author and researcher focusing on Tunisia and North Africa, talks to Focus on Africa about the situation in the country.
