Shantania, 29, moved to the West Midlands from Jamaica when she was just nine-years-old. She would travel into Birmingham to help her mother with her cleaning job. Living as an undocumented migrant, and getting bullied at school for the colour of her skin, she says her childhood was a 'stressful' time, but she would find solace in hair and beauty - a passion that would one day make her thousands as a social media influencer. Shantania first started her Youtube channel from her council flat. Now living in Smethwick, she has over 300,000 subscribers on her Youtube channel and 200,000 on her Instagram.
