Record-breaking tropical storm Freddy kills dozens

Officials in Malawi have declared a state of disaster after tropical storm Freddy pummelled the country over the weekend. At least 99 people are known to have died in Mozambique and Malawi. More than 30 of them in one catastrophic landslide in Malawi's southern city of Blantyre. The relentless rain and strong wind is seriously affecting attempts to reach injured people and cut off communities. Neighbouring Mozambique has also been badly affected....getting more than a year's worth of rain in the past four weeks. Freddy is the strongest tropical cyclone on record and could also be the long-lasting one, according to the World Meteorological Organization..
