When we think about toxic air, Delhi, Beijing or Mumbai - spring to mind. But officials in Thailand have said about 200,000 people were admitted to hospital across the country last week because of air pollution. As a precaution, children and pregnant women have been asked to stay indoors. The main sources of air pollution in Thailand are from transport, agriculture and industries. A 麻豆社 reporter in the country told OS that much of the pollution in Chiang Mai comes from farmers burning waste after producing animal feed. He says there's little political will to do much about it as it's seen as a long-term issue.
