Why more women are opting for a healthy hen party

Woman's Hour
Deals with adult themes.

Available for over a year

April, May and June are very much hen party season, but they’re not necessarily all about getting very drunk any more. Now healthy hen parties, with activities like dance classes, boot camps, adventure weekends and yoga classes, are becoming increasingly popular – and often they are also alcohol free. Ellie Steafel, a feature writer at The Telegraph, who went on six hen parties last year, and Hannah Dean, whose divorce led her to starting her own hen party company, discussed the new trend with Woman’s Hour’s Anita Rani. You can listen to the full Woman’s Hour discussion on Â鶹Éç Sounds - it’s the Woman’s Hour episode from 14 April.
