Oil pollution in Nigeria’s Bayelsa state

A report by The Bayelsa State Oil and Environmental Commission has said that Nigeria will need $12 billion to clean up the damage caused by oil extraction in Bayelsa state. The report suggested that historic producers in the state, like Shell and Eni, should be liable for the compensation. The Âé¶¹Éç’s Karnie Sharp spoke to one of the authors of the report, Dr Kathryn Nwajiaku-Dahou.
