The planet Jupiter is well known for its striped bands of colour swirling around. And those stripes change colour. Until now scientists weren't sure what was behind the colour changes but new research suggests the mystery has been solved and it's to do with the planet's magnetic field. The team behind the study used information from Nasa's Juno craft which has been orbiting the biggest planet in our solar system for nearly seven years. Professor Chris Jones from Leeds University is one of the research co-authors. He's been speaking to Newshour about his research and began by explaining what causes Jupiter's bands of colour.
