'School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play,' is a new play written by Ghanaian-American, Jocelyn Bioh set in Ghana, in 1986 at the prestigious Aburi Girls' Boarding School. The play is making its debut in the UK. The story is set around student Paula and her friends, who try to fulfil their dream of taking part in a Miss Ghana pageant. Stefania Okereke met with casting members, Anna Shaffer and Tara Tijani, along with director, Monique Touko at the Lyric Hammersmith in London.
