Inside the mystery of Connie Converse

Weekend

Available for over a year

Connie Converse was born in 1924 in New Hampshire. In the late 50s and 60s she performed regularly on the American folk music scene centred on New York, in the same circles in which Bob Dylan found initial success. However, by the early 1970s, Connie Converse had grown increasingly disillusioned with her musical career. She suffered from ill health, both physically and mentally. Shortly after her 50th birthday in 1974, she packed her belongings into a car and drove away, never to be seen again. Howard Fishman, is an author and musician who has written a new book about Connie Converse, entitled 'To Anyone Who Ever Asks.' (Picture: Singer-songwriter, Connie Converse.
