The biggest ruby ever to come to auction has been sold in New York for a record sum of $34.8m. The "Estrela de Fura” or "Star of Fura," named after the company that mined the stone, was a staggering 101 carats when it was pulled from a mine last year in a mine in Mozambique. Sotheby's jewellery specialist Sophie Stevens was in New York for the auction, and explains to the �鶹��'s Will Bain why there is so much potential in Mozambique gem mines.
