Who was Silvio Berlusconi, Italy's 'acquitter-in-chief'?

Newshour

Available for over a year

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi - one of Europe's most divisive politicians - has died aged 86. He was a dominant force in Italian politics for at least two decades and seemed to be impervious to scandal - despite the endless slew of allegations about sexual, financial, and political impropriety. Beppe Severgnini is an Italian columnist and author of "Mamma Mia! Berlusconi's Italy Explained". He's been telling Newshour's Tim Franks why Berlusconi was described as Italy's "acquitter-in-chief".
