'Our performances are heavy because of our pain'

Weekend

Available for over a year

Dakh Daughters are an all-female group from Ukraine. Dressed in black and white outfits and tutus, they mix performance art and music to produce what they call a freak cabaret. They have been appearing at the World Music Festival, Womad, taking place in the south west of England. Weekend’s Martin Vennard asked Ruslana Khazipova, a member of the group, where the name Dhak Daughters comes from. (Image: Ruslana Khazipova, a member of the Dhak Daughters)
