"He was never left alone"

Newshour

Available for over a year

Last month the Norwegian mountaineer Kristin Harila became the fastest climber to scale the world's 14 highest peaks. But video has emerged that appears to show her group climbing over an injured sherpa who'd fallen from a ledge on K2. In an interview with Newshour's Julian Marshall, Harila denies leaving the man to die. She said her team tried everything to help the guide in what were treacherous conditions and she asserted that he was never left alone as other people stayed with him. "We tried, until we had to go", she told Newshour.
